Dog training in Billings
Drop off a dog. Pick up a companion.
Pulling on the leash. Jumping on every guest. Ignoring you the moment there’s a squirrel. None of it is permanent — and none of it is your fault. We take dogs from “I can’t walk him anymore” to off-leash, outside, with distractions.
Training Programs
Start Wherever Clips
Six programs, every price published. Not sure which one fits? Call us and we’ll tell you honestly — including when the answer is the $150 puppy class rather than something bigger.
Puppy Class
The foundations, done properly, while it’s still easy. Sit, down, leave it, drop it, watch, come, loose leash walking, door manners and get it. Includes a free nail trim so your puppy learns early that being handled is normal.
Private Puppy Class
Same curriculum, just you and your puppy. Good for a nervous pup, an awkward schedule, or an owner who wants to move faster than a group allows.
Basic Obedience Starter
Start with a single lesson and continue at your own pace. Includes the training collar and a 15-foot long line, both yours to keep.
Basic Obedience Package
The complete foundation. By the end, your dog will hold a sit, a down and a place — outside, off-leash, with distractions. Training collar and long line included.
Basic + Advanced
Everything in the basic package, then eight more skills on top. This is the one for owners who want a dog they can take anywhere and not think about.
Therapy Dog Program
Built specifically to prepare you and your dog for therapy dog testing. Every client who has gone through this program has passed.
Additional advanced lessons are $100 each, once your dog has completed the Basic Obedience Package.
Build note: Basic Obedience Starter shows three different prices across the current site — confirm before launch.
Basic Obedience Curriculum
Nine Commands That Change Everything
Come
Reliably, first time — not eventually.
Sit & Extended Sit
And holds it until you say otherwise.
Down & Extended Down
Same — held until released, not until bored.
Place & Extended Place
Goes to a spot you point at — a chair, a bench, a bed — and stays there.
Loose Leash Walking
Walks beside you, not ahead dragging you.
Off
Doesn't jump on you, your guests, or your kids.
The bit most people miss: “Extended” means your dog stays in position until you release them. Not until they get bored. Not until something interesting walks past. That single distinction is the difference between a dog who knows a trick and a dog you can actually live with.
Advanced Lessons · $100 each
Once The Foundation Is Solid
Your dog needs to finish the Basic Obedience Package first — advanced work doesn’t stick without it. After that:
Distance Obedience
Sit and down on command from 50+ yards away.
Heel
Comes running, circles behind you, sits at your left leg.
Focused heeling
Holds eye contact with you the entire time.
Watch
Eyes on you until released.
Front
Comes running and sits squarely in front of you, from anywhere.
Through
Moves between your legs and sits.
Stand
Assumes a standing position on command.
Touch
Runs up and puts their paws on whatever you point to.
2-Week Board & Train · $2,350
Two Weeks.
One Different Dog.
Drop your dog off with a trainer. Two weeks later, pick up a dog who is reliable outside, off-leash, with distractions. They live here and train daily — and they get the same acreage and group play as every other guest, so it isn’t two weeks in a kennel.
You’re included too. There’s no point in a trained dog going home to an untrained owner, so we hand over the commands, the timing and the follow-through before your dog leaves.
Of our therapy dog clients have passed certification
If your goal is a certified therapy dog — visiting hospitals, care homes, schools or libraries — our $725 Therapy Dog Program prepares both of you for the testing itself. It’s built around what the test actually asks for, which is why nobody who’s done it with us has failed yet.
This program books months in advance. Please call before booking or paying online so we can find you a slot.
Our Method
About The Training Collar
Used properly, the collar is a communication tool, not a punishment device. It lets us reach your dog at fifty yards in an open field the same way we can reach them at five feet in your living room — which is exactly what off-leash reliability requires. We start low, we teach the dog what the sensation means before we ever ask anything of it, and most dogs work at a level a person can barely feel on their own hand.
The collar is included in your package and it’s yours to keep. It’s fully waterproof, has a two-year warranty, and a range of half a mile.
If you’d prefer training without an e-collar, tell us when you call.

Training FAQ
Puppy classes start at $150. The full Basic Obedience Package is $595 and includes four lessons plus the training collar and long line. The two-week Board & Train is $2,350.
Puppy classes are for puppies. Obedience work generally starts from around six months. Rescues of any age are welcome — we work with a lot of them.
Call us and describe what happens. Some reactivity we can work with in a normal package; some needs a different approach. We'll tell you honestly which it is.
Yes, for everything except Board & Train — and even then we train you before your dog goes home. The dog learns in a fortnight; you're the one who has to keep it going for the next ten years.
The Key K-9 training collar and a 15-foot long line come with the Starter, Basic and Basic + Advanced packages, and they're yours to keep.
Your Dog Already Knows Us
If your dog boards or does daycare here, training is the natural next step — same facility, same people, a dog who’s already comfortable walking through the door. Ask us at drop-off.
